Fun at the Chatterton's

Kaden decided one night that he needed to wear his pants on his head, and it turned into hours of fun and laughter. Berkley joined in, and they both had Richard and I laughing. The funniest part was how serious Kaden was everytime I asked him to smile for the camera. Berkley loves the camera, and struck a pose for me. These two are always coming up with some creative way to play and have fun.

The Bear

I just wanted to let you all know that I am so much in love with my husband that I am willing to compromise and cooperate (after many hours of arguement) and allow him to place a bear rug, yes, that is right, a real bear above my headboard in my bedroom. Richard shot this bear in Shoup last year, and paid a lot of money to get it made into a rug. I thought we had agreed to placing it in our basement when it was completed. Well, the basement is not completed, and there is nowhere else to put it, so I now have a large beast (head to tail= 6ft) breathing down my neck when I am sleeping. I just thought I would share, because I am not one for dead animals as decoraton, but for the love of my marriage it will be okay until the basement is finished.

My Adorable Kids

Berkley and Kaden are growing up so fast! Every stage gets funner and more interesting. They are great together, and play so well. This is my first week of summer break and I cannot wait to be home with them for 3 months. We are going to have a blast!!

Race Day!!

My trip to Moab was an experience I will never forget. I was able to go with my two sisters Kelsi and Jade, and then some friends Jen and Christy. The weather was beautiful! A nice change going from 20 degree weather to 80 degree weather. We arrived in Moab friday afternoon and were able to walk Maine street and shop around in the local businesses. Everything was really nice. We made sure to go to bed early Friday so we were ready for our run in the morning. Kelsi, Jen, and I kept asking ourselves what we had gotten into, in a nice way. Race day we woke up early and got up to the shuttles so that we could ride the bus up through the canyon where the start line was. The anxiety and energy at the top of the canyon was amazing! It was so much fun meeting new people and experiencing what it is like to be a crazy runner that thinks it is fun to run for over 2 hours (never thought that would be me:) The run was beautiful! We followed the Colorado river for the first 11 miles, and then ran into Moab for the last 2.1 miles. I completed the race in 2 hours and 39 minutes, and I feel pretty good about my time with it being my first race and not being a natural runner. The weather change was quite an adjustment as well, instead of finishing 13 miles with ice on my lips and eyelashes, I finished sweating like crazy! Saturday after the race we pretty much did nothing, and Sunday we were able to drive through the Arch's National Park. I will post pictures of us with our running gear on the night before the race, race day in the park, and pictures of our outing on Sunday. The big question now is whether or not I am going to keep running? I have not decided yet! I love to run because it is a stress relief, and I love the results I have seen on my body (I was not trying to lose weight or even worried about it, but when you run 20+miles a week I guess it is bound to happen). I do challenge anyone that would like to run with me in the next 1/2 marathon to let me know and we can do it together!

Disney on Ice

Berkley and I were able to take a girl day and drive to Salt Lake and see Disney on Ice together. We had so much fun! When Mickey and Minnie mouse skated out at the first of the show, I will never forget Berkley's face. It made me cry to see how excited she was. She was glued the entire show and had to stand up so she could see better. This is for sure going to be an annual tradition for us.

Frogs and snails and puppy-dogs' tails . . .that's what little boys are made of!

Kaden had his first birthday on February 21st. I have been slow about posting anything, and I apologize. We had a great time on his birthday celebrating with family members. We actually had two parties, the first with my family, and the second with Richard's side of the family. At the first party Kaden was too quick and he put out the candle on his cake with his fingers. He was okay! At the second party when we started taking the cake over to his highchair and singing "Happy Birthday" he began to cry and would not look at it because of the candle. We thought it was pretty funny, not that he got burnt of course, but that he remembered. He is such a joy to have in our family. We love his so much! He is busy, busy, busy and always looking to solve the next problem. It is going to be a blast watching him grow up! Berkley was good not getting jealous that Kaden was receiving all the attention. She sure is growing up and loves to learn about everything. I promise the highchair is not the only place I ever take pictures of him:)

10 miles and . . . still alive!

I just wanted to do a quick post on how the training is going. I am now up to 10 miles and I am still alive. I ran 10-miles two weekends ago while we were visiting family in Pocatello, and I did not realize it would be running the length of Pocatello and back. I felt great afterwards. To accomplish that many miles really makes you feel like you can do anything. I am set to run 12 this weekend, so we will see how that goes.

Well, enough about me. . . We get to say goodbye to Kaden's goopy eye finally!! He has had a plugged tear duct since birth and we went to see an Opthamologist last Friday and he is scheduled to have a tear duct probe done this Friday. I am sure he is ready to not have Mom wiping his eye every two seconds. He is such a great sport!! We are also glad that his 4-month ear infection finally cleared up! We were affraid he was going to have to get tubes placed as well, but luckily that cleared up this past week. He is finally sleeping through the night again, as am I, which is really nice. I am going to post a picture of him, because I just love him so much and think he is the cutest thing in the entire world. He has me wrapped around his finger, because he is such a Mama's boy, and I absolutely love it!!!

Berkley turns 3!!!

Today was Berkley's third birthday. I cannot believe she is already 3 years old. Time goes way too fast! We had a lot of fun. She got to choose which princess she wanted for her birthday, and she chose Belle from Beauty and the Beast. So, I found some creativity in my bones somewhere and made her a Belle Princess cake. She absolutely loved it! The cake was fun to make, and I was a little proud of myself, because if you know me at all, you know that I am not a very artsy crafty type of person. Here are some pictures of Berkley and the cake.

It is hard having a birthday and Christmas so close. She has way too many toys now, and I have to find a way to organize everything. She loved opening more presents, and was really excited when she got her swimmer baby she has been asking for. This baby doll actually swims by itself when you place it in the water, where were these types of toys when I was little!?!

Here is Berkley and her cousin Mataya in her dress-up clothes that she got. They were being rock stars, and Berkley is really good at singing "Disturbia" by Rhianna. She has great taste in music, she also sings "So What" by Pink often too, paired with Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and her favorite "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus". She cracks us up!!
